One Purpose, Many Participants, One Cause

25th August (Beneficiary / Corporate Day!)

BE A PART OF OBW2024! As participants there are many ways you can use your fitness for a cause, the key thing is ANYONE can be a part of this. For the first time, OBW2023 is split into 2 standalone segments, the Fight For Hope and the OBW Lift Off.

If you're all about lifting, test your limits in the OBW Lift Off. Lift weights and lift lives by achieving your 1 Rep Max clean with a buddy of the same gender! if you're lucky, get some tips by our national lifters too!

​

If you're all about work capacity, hit our trademark workout, "Fight For Hope", which simulates what a real fight feels like. Do it solo or with a buddy (Same gender)!

​

If you're all about balance and being good at everything. Then go ahead and do BOTH!

​

THE BIGGEST HEART COUNTS. This fundraising event is slightly different because the majority of the funds are raised by none other than YOU, the participants themselves! Though not compulsory, prior to the workouts, you've got to do your homework and we don't mean just training harder. You're encouraged to find your sponsors for the workout and lifts, it could be a $0.10 or $10 per rep done or KG lifted. Every one counts. THIS YEAR, Tote Board is matching EVERY DONATION Dollar for Dollar!

*Please register 30 mins prior to your wave and be at the warm up area 15 mins prior to your wave

Lane allocations for Sunday will be given on the day itself.

It is truly a different feeling doing the workout, knowing that every rep is money raised for someone else. Make your workout count for more by getting a sponsor or two please!It may be difficult to ask but if you never ask, the answer is always no! So please do give it one more shot, reach out to a loved one or two!

WORKOUT FLOW

In the heat list, your lane allocation will indicate which movement you start with - e.g "W3-L2-BJ" means Wave 3, Lane 2, Box Jump as the first movement.You can refer to the sequence below to see how your circuit will run. E.g Box Jump will then lead into Push Press and the last station before the rest will be Pull Up. You can then strategize your effort accordingly!

Here are some tips for you for event day, if this is your first time!

 

GENERAL WARM-UP 

Make sure your body is well-primed and ready to take load once you start hitting the barbell!

​

Before your 15 minute wave, do a combination of targeted mobility drills to increase the range of motion in your ankles, hips and front rack, activation drills to get your core ready to handle load, footwork drills to get your mind and body ready to move with speed! 

 

SPECIFIC WARM-UP 

Make sure to time your sets properly to ensure you have sufficient rest before your 1RM attempt! If you need, here's an idea of how you can hit your sets.

REGISTER. FIND YOUR SPONSORS. MAKE AN IMPACT

Though NOT COMPULSORY, everyone is HIGHLY encouraged to seeks their own sponsors (friends, family, loved ones) for the workout. 

SPONSORS PLEDGE

Sponsors pledge and donate based on reps completed in "Fight For Hope" or KG lifted in "OBW Lift Off." Sponsors can set a max donation cap

DONATION TIERS

Sponsors can choose to donate from $0.10 per rep/KG up to $1 or more. Bulk donations are welcome. OBW keeps a record of pledges.

POST EVENT

Participants and OBW will keep a record of sponsors and pledged amounts. Post event, OBW will notify sponsors of total reps done. 

MAKE THE DONATION

Sponsors complete the donation. Donated amount goes to youth at risk programs by CARE Singapore and is tax deductible.

We're not just about the hype and fitness, we're also about keeping things fun! The Fringe fitness village is where they all come together. Expect all the familiar faces in functional fitness scene to be present. Vendors and partners will not just be showcasing their amazing products and services but will also be serving up challenges which are both fun yet still vibe with giving back to the community (Not to mention, some might truly be a test of fitness too!)

JOIN THE MOVEMENT

You don't have to be an Olympian or elite yogi to make a difference. Anyone with the same drive and grit can use their fitness for a cause.
